About us

We are a professional group of neurosurgeons who have worked together for many years in the public health system and the private sector. We lead and are part of the neurosurgery team at the Son Espases University Hospital in Palma de Mallorca. This is the only department in this specialty in the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands, for which we are the regional reference center. We collaborate through this professional society in our private practice.

Neurotraumatology

It refers to diseases caused by trauma to the skull and brain.

Spinal pathology

Due to its great impact, it is one of our main areas of work. We deal with all the regions that make up the spine.

Tumors

It is also one of our most common fields of work, where we have to remove and diagnose lesions that occur in the nervous system itself.

Vascular pathology

We frequently have to evacuate cerebral hemorrhages or treat the injuries that have produced them (aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, etc.).

Hydrocephalus and other cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) disorders

Poor circulation or absorption of the CSF that bathes our brain and spinal cord.

Infectious pathology

Sometimes we are required to surgically treat infections, such as abscesses or empyemas that frequently come from other areas of the body.

Congenital malformations

That can be corrected surgically. The most frequent concern the morphology of the skull.

Peripheral nervous system pathology

In addition to repairing nerve trauma, it is common for us to have to intervene in entrapment syndromes.

Functional neurosurgery

In this area, neurosurgeons try to modulate the abnormal responses of the nervous system that cause various disorders, such as epilepsy, abnormal movements.
